Elope to Colorado in Winter
We have a special place in our hearts for Colorado winter elopements because…well…Blue Sky Elopements owner Maureen Thomson married her own hubby outside in the snow in December of 2007 on a magical Colorado winter evening.
So, yes, we are kindred spirits with those who prefer a cold and snowy ceremony backdrop over an intense summer sun; those whose wedding attire might be a fur-trimmed cape or a parka; those who will forever celebrate their anniversary when the days are short and the nights are long.
We’re often asked, “Where’s the best place to elope in Colorado in winter?” The answer is, “it depends.” We’ll help you choose the perfect-for-you winter elopement venue after we get to know you a little better and factor in the amount of time you’ll be in Colorado, your comfort level with driving in the snow, your tolerance for cold and snow, what you want to do while you’re here (and not getting married!) and a whole host of other details.
There are many location options–both indoors and out–for a winter elopement in Colorado. We hope you enjoy these photos of some of our favorite Rocky Mountain winter elopements. From Telluride to Breckenridge to Metro Denver, we’ve got a ton of creative ideas for your winter elopement in Colorado.
