This is where I’m supposed to give you the 2 minute schpiel on why you simply must choose Blue Sky Elopements for your small wedding. But the truth is, I don’t think we’re right for everybody. A wedding is a highly personal thing so it’s not a One-Size-Fits-All proposition.
It makes more sense to outline what we offer (and how we offer it), the type of client with whom we work best and our business philosophy and you can decide if that fits in with the vision you have for your wedding.

Our Elopement Wedding Venues
We specialize in outdoor venues with spectacular views. These are pretty easy to find in the areas we serve! However, California, Colorado and Washington are high-traffic tourist areas–and getting busier with each passing year! Elopement sites we used 5-10 years ago are no longer private. Since our couples tell us they don’t like being the center of attention, we don’t think it’s right to suggest sites where in all likelihood, you’re going to be gawked at by hordes of strangers. We’re constantly out there looking for hidden gems where you can elope beyond the prying eyes of the masses. Have you noticed how picture-heavy our website is? That’s intentional. We’re so proud of the photos our photographers turn in for our clients that we want to shout it from the rooftops. And we want you to see the type of images you’ll be getting from us. Photography is a top priority for eloping couples and our experienced photographers deliver 100% in this area. Blue Sky Elopements co-owner and professional photographer Jeremy Myers has been shooting professionally for over 30 years and he’s in charge of our photographers. Coordinating your wedding means more than just being here if you need us. That’s all well and good, but if you don’t know what questions to ask, what good is “being here?” It’s not your job to know what to ask; it’s our job to provide you with information and advice before problems crop up. Making you wait for answers simply isn’t how we roll. Having done this since 2002, we’re going to anticipate pitfalls that you can’t even imagine. The Blue Sky Elopements Service Philosophy
A trite marketing phase we see all the time is “your wedding–your way” (followed closely by “it’s YOUR wedding!”). These types of sayings, in our not-so-humble opinion, are a recipe for disaster. Of course it’s your wedding and of course you have ideas about what you want it to look like. But what this philosophy overlooks is that you’re not an expert in planning a destination wedding. You’re paying us for our expertise; and sometimes that expertise is to protect you from what you don’t know!
If you tell us you’re envisioning a secluded wedding on the beach on the Saturday of Memorial Day weekend, we’re going to tell you that’s not going to happen. We’ll suggest you change your date, your venue or your expectations. If you want a snowy mountaintop wedding and insist that Grandma has to be there dragging her oxygen tank, we’re going to tell you that’s a bad idea. If you’ve fallen in love with a popular public venue that you’ve found on the Internet, we’re happy to make it work for you, but we’ll also be forthright in advising you that there is a good chance you’ll be the backdrop of a tourist’s selfie.
In addition to counseling you on situations that might trip you up, we’re also going to up the odds for a successful wedding day by being meticulous about all the details. There’s a lot of moving parts (both seen and unseen) involved in pulling off the perfect wedding day. We’ve undoubtedly encountered every go-wrong scenario imaginable and we’re going to take steps to ensure you don’t meet up with any of them. That’s what you’re paying us for.
Our Ideal Client
We work best with couples that want to communicate their wedding vision to us and then trust that we’re going to implement it for them flawlessly. Our couples tend to be busy professionals who are not interested in managing the minutia required to pull off a destination wedding. They have discriminating tastes and are not interested in bottom-of-the-barrel budget wedding services that are low on quality.
In addition, our ideal couple wants the simplicity that is inherent in an elopement. That’s reflected in more than just guest count. A simple wedding is generally characterized by guests (if there are any) gathered round the couple for an intimate ceremony rather than seated; a lack of pomp such as processionals and wedding parties; an informal, post-ceremony gathering as opposed to a conventional reception; and minimal ceremony decor (Mother Nature supplies the decorations for our sites!). While we can incorporate any of these individual aspects into one of our packages, in the aggregate they become a traditional wedding that happens to have a small amount of guests. That’s not what we’re all about.
