Bay Area locals Craig and Paulanee knew they wanted a redwood forest elopement wedding, but they also wanted to be closer to home and they weren't willing to sacrifice access to Bay Area amenities like upscale lodging and dining.
A potentially tricky combination, but we had some ideas. Not all of the old growth redwoods are upstate in the Redwood Empire (although many of them are!). We guided them to a redwood forest deep in the East Bay--giving them a natural backdrop for their ceremony and photos within a 20 minute drive to a fabulous restaurant where they had their post-wedding meal for two.
They preferred a more manicured look for their redwoods, which this section of the park provides. A bit more walking (about 10 minute) would have brought them to sections of the park that were devoid of fencing and other man-made structures. But the meandering path amid the redwoods closer to the entrance was exactly what they were looking for.
The weather was perfect for their August evening wedding and there were smiles and laughter all the way around.
Our hair and makeup artist had met up with Paulanee at the Claremont Hotel to work her magic on Paulanee's luxuriously long hair.
The bridal bouquet was a combination of soft pinks, whites and light greens--which blended harmoniously with the natural surrounding of the redwood forest.
Then it was time for some kissin' and some dancin' in the meadow.
